Emma

Above all, there is literally the sky. Which I always try to see as bright, regardless of the weather.

In 1997 I opened my eyes for the first time, and I have no idea what I might have thought. Over time, fortunately, I started to understand what I like and what I don't. Numbers, for example: I can use them, but we don't get along very well. I wanted to go to an arts or classics high school, but ended up at a science one. Because they said it prepared you for everything. "For everything, though?" I'd ask today. Then, not knowing what to do or even what it was, I enrolled in a design degree. It was fun, I think that's why I decided I wanted to do it for as long as possible. Obviously, the moment I graduated, I realised that working in it is a completely different thing. So I've always seasoned the journey with courses here and there: one in art and photography, one in anthropology applied to design, one on the history of Italian cinema, one on how to make documentaries, and now one on how to learn to learn creatively. Who knows what the next one will be.

I collect [La Pimpa books, because I'd like to be like her: an enthusiastic and curious friend of the world. I love soul, funk, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, MPB, bossanova, samba so much so that I occasionally DJ. I have a deep fascination for what nature transforms over thousands of years. I love dinosaurs, and I've discovered that chickens are some.

I have more books than clothes, every time I move I hurt my back because, literally, culture is heavy. Words are heavy. But I like to use them lightly: that lightness lifts me up when the world around me isn't going its best, so my mind can always breathe. Without oxygen, it doesn't think well.

Let's find out if we can work together. Or talk about things we like, ideas that still need to take shape, ir-realizable dreams.
